Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal

If you’d like to get your child, yourself or spouse to quit eating sugary cereals, try this easy way to prepare oatmeal.

INGREDIENTS

½ cup Rolled Oats

¼ to 1/3 cup very hot water

1 large apple, grated

½ cup milk

½ teaspoon cinnamon, to taste

INSTRUCTIONS

Put rolled oats in a cereal bowl. Pour hot water over oats and stir, if needed. Allow to set and absorb the hot water for a few minutes. While oats are soaking up the hot water, slice, core, and grate a large apple. Add grated apple to the soaked oatmeal in the cereal bowl. Add ¼ to ½ cup plant milk, like almond milk, depending on how wet you want your cereal. Add cinnamon. Stir it all together. Enjoy right then, or seal and put in the refrigerator to enjoy later.

This sweet cereal will fool anyone’s taste buds into thinking they are eating a sugary sweet cereal. But it’s not so sweet that those who don’t enjoy sweet cereal won’t enjoy it.

It fills a cereal bowl almost full, depending on the size of the apple. It’s a great way to eat a whole apple without even knowing you’re eating that much. Serve with a peach or an orange on the side, depending on what fruit is in season.
